Diazepam

Benefits:
DIAZEPAM CHINFIELD is a valuable veterinary tool that can be used in different species: dogs, cats, horses and camelids. This drug acts as a tranquilizer, helping to calm nervous or anxious animals. Itis also useful as a muscle relaxant, reducing tension or spasms in animals.
In addition, Diazepam has anticonvulsant properties, making it very effective in managing epilepsy or seizures. As a premedication before anesthesia, it helps prepare the animal for the procedure. In low doses, it can stimulate appetite in cats that have difficulty eating. For horses, it is excellent in the induction of anesthesia, as it provides deep relaxation that facilitates the process.
Indications:
Tranquilizer. Myorrelaxant. Anxiolytic. and orexigenic in felines.
In combination with other drugs in the induction of general anesthesia.
Target species:
Canines. Felines. Sports horses. Camelids.
Posology, dosage and administration:
Intravenous, intramuscular or intrarectal depending on the species.
Canines and felines: 0.1ml -0.5 ml every 5 kg. intravenous or intramuscular.
Orexigen (felines only): 0.05 ml-0.1 ml every 5 kg. intravenous or intramuscular.
Anticonvulsant: 0.5 mi-1 ml every 5 kg. intravenous or intrarectal.
Anesthetic induction: 0.1 ml-0.2 ml every 5 kg. intravenously.
Equines: 1ml -4 ml every 100 kg. intravenous.
Anticonvulsant: 1 mi-2 ml every 100 kg. intravenous.
Anesthetic induction: 1ml- 2 ml every 100 kg. intravenous.
Camelids: 2ml -10 ml every 100 kg. intravenous or intramuscular.
Anesthetic induction: 4 ml every 100 kg. intravenously.
Interval between doses: As a tranquilizer, muscle relaxant and anxiolytic: the dosage can be repeated according to the criteria of the Veterinarian.
As an anticonvulsant: every 8 hours in canines and felines and in horses every 30 minutes.
As orexigenic in felines: every 24 hours.
As anesthetic induction the dosage can be repeated according to the criteria of the Veterinarian.
Treatment duration: According to the need and criteria of the Veterinarian.
